Career
He has been the chairman of the Social Democratic Party of Finland (Social Democratic Party) since 9 May 2014. He was the Minister of Finance of Finland between 6 June 2014 and 29 May 2015. He was previously union leader of ERTO from 2002 to 2005, of Union of Salaried Employees from 2005 to 2010 and of Ammattiliitto Pro from 2010 to 2014.
Rinne holds a Candidate of Law from the University of Helsinki.
He was elected chairman of the Social Democratic Party of Finland (Social Democratic Party) on 9 May 2014, defeating Jutta Urpilainen.
