He helped Gonzaga reach National Collegiate Athletic Association Tournament in 2007 for first time since 2001, and was named to the All-Women's Army Corps Second Team that same year. During his college years Washington also played for Spokane Shadow, Boulder Rapids Reserve and Spokane Spiders in the USL Premier Development League. Professional
Washington was drafted in the fourth round (54th overall) of the 2008 Master of Library Science SuperDraft by Chicago Fire.
He was sent on loan to the Cleveland City Stars in early 2009.
