Ayman"s father is Sabawi Ibrahim Hassan al-Tikriti, Saddam"s half brother who was captured in Tikrit in February, 2005. Ayman was suspected of aiding the Iraqi Insurgency and was arrested at the beginning of May, 2005 during a raid north of Tikrit. Ayman Ibrahim, who was serving a life sentence in a northern Iraqi prison, escaped with the help of a police officer on December 9, 2006.
