Mason graduated from the University of Florida College of Law in 1970 and began a private practice of law emphasizing criminal defense and divorce litigation in 1971, in Orlando, Florida. He is a frequent lecturer for various bar associations. In addition to his practice of law, he is very active in local, state and national associations, as well as volunteering his time to teach young prosecutors and public defenders trial techniques at the annual workshop at the University of Florida, College of Law.
