Background
Paul Levesque, or better known to his fans as “Triple H”, was born in New Hampshire on July 27, 1969. At a young age he became fascinated by professional body builders and aspired to be one. At the age of 14 he started to become heavily involved in body building and grew quickly. His first work out partner and workout trainer was Ted Arcidi, who used to be the bench press recorder holder and had a short wrestling career so he helped him out when he could. He was trained by Killer Kowalski who was a famous wrestler in his day. Triple H made his professional wrestling debut in 1992 as Terra Rysing. After the first few matches in his career he was hired by the WCW but did not wrestle much on TV so he switched to WWF even though he worked more days/nights for less pay.
Education
Levesque became aware of bodybuilding at the age of fourteen; after graduating from high school in 1987, Levesque entered several bodybuilding competitions.
Career
In 1995 he made his first appearance in the WWF as Hunter Hearst Helmsley who had the personality of a rich snob to provoke envy in his opponents. Unfortunately Paul was caught up in the MSG incident which cost him the 1996 “King of the Ring” title. Toward the end of 1996 he won the title of Intercontinental Champion and earned the respect of the fellow wrestlers and fans alike. Due to his fame he formed the D-Generation X group which was known for the immature stunts the members performed.
By 1995 Triple H became the WWE Champion and around the same time married Stephanie McMahon, the daughter of Vince McMahon who is his superior. Shortly after his marriage he returned to the ring and performed in a Tag Team match with Steve Austin but tore his quad muscle which kept him out of the ring for close to 9 months. When he healed up and returned he won the WWE Royal Rumble match and took the title from Chris Jericho at WrestleMania 18, shortly after that he won the title of World Heavyweight Champion in a match against Shawn Michaels. All in total Paul has rightfully earned close to a dozen belts including multiple WWE titles such as the World Heavyweight Championship title, World Tag Team title, Unified Tag Team Championship title, European title and the Intercontinental Championship belt.
Overall, Levesque has won 23 championships in WWE. He is a thirteen-time world champion — the all-time record in the company — having won the WWF/E Championship eight times, and the World Heavyweight Championship five times. He was the first World Heavyweight Champion. In addition, Helmsley won the 1997 King of the Ring, the 2002 Royal Rumble, and was the second Grand Slam Championship winner. Outside of wrestling, Helmsley has made numerous guest appearances in film and on television.
