Teresa Palmer kicked off her career in 2005, and by the time 2007 rolled around, she had already made an indelible impact thanks to memorable roles in movies like The Grudge 2 (2006) and 2:37 (2006).
Born and raised in Australia, Teresa Edwina Palmer has been harboring dreams of becoming an actress ever since she was a little girl. As Teresa progressed through her high school years, it became clear to everyone around her that she was destined for a career on the stage and in front of the camera.
Teresa’s big break came in 2003 when, after spotting a billboard advertisement, she entered and won an Australian talent competition called Search for a Movie Star. One of her prizes was a year’s worth of acting classes, which she followed up with one audition after another.
Upon graduation, Teresa landed small roles in such Australian productions as Wolf Creek (2005) and Deck Dogz (2005). After being noticed in those tiny parts, Teresa successfully auditioned for the lead role in the drama 2:37. The film, which revolves around several characters as they react to a suicide, premiered to positive reviews and played at such prestigious film events as the Cannes Film Festival and the Toronto International Film Festival.
