Her film career started in the year 1984, when she signed her debut film 'Abodh'. The film failed to create any ripples at the box office and was forgotten soon. Initially, she played the role of a supporting actress. She got her first major role in the movie 'Tezaab'. From then onwards, she started giving hit films like Dil, Ram Lakhan, Saajan, Khalnayak, Beta, Dayavan, and many more. Hum Aapke Hain Kaun, Dil to Pagal Hai and Devdas were real blockbusters.
