From 1909 theater critic. 1920 began stage career with production of Shanshiashvili's Berdo Zmaniya. From 1924 chief stage director, Rustaveli Theater, Tbilisi.
As pupil of Mardzhanishvili co-produced Shanshiashvili's ’’Ereti the Hero” and Shakespeare's ’The Merry Wives of Windsor”. While at Rustaveli Theater produced: Glebov’s Zagmuk (1926). Shanshiashvili's Anzor (1928).
Kirshon’s "City of the Winds” (1929). Dadiani’s Tetnul’d (1931). ’The Robbers" (1933), et cetera
At Opera and Ballet Theater produced: Arakishvili’s "The Tale of Shota Rustaveli” and Paliashvili’s "Latavra”. Made major contribution to development of Geo theater, enhancing Rustaveli Theater’s reputation for heroic and romantic productions. His productions were notable for their emotional appeal, impact and dynamism.
