Studied at Bryusov Literature Institute and Lenin Teachers’ Training Institute, Moscow.
Worked for several years in a Minsk children's home and then on the Jewish newspaper Stern. In his latter years ed work at Belorussian State Publ House. 1921 first work published.
Wrote ’’restrained” lyric poetry, mainly about nature and youth. Translated Belorussian and Russian writers into Yiddish. Spring 1941 arrested by State Security organs.
Member, Belorussian West'riters’ Union from 1934.
