Born in Tbilisi, Lado Aleksi-Meskhishvili studied medicine at the University of Moscow.
Abandoned Moscow University studies on medical grounds and returned to Geo, where he taught. Also acted in Russian amateur dramatic shows. 1881 appeared with Tiflis Geo drama company.
1887-1890 and 1906-1910 acted at Russian theaters. 1906-1907 with Moscow Arts Theater. 1890-1896 and 1910 director, Tiflis Geo Drama Theater.
1897-1906 director, Kutaisi Drama Theater. From 1890 also worked as stage director and taught drama. Gave dramatic readings on variety stage.
Also film work; translated several plays into Georgia Roles: Levan Khimshiashvili in Eristavi’s "Homeland”. Gocha in Tsereteli’s "Artful Tamara”.
