From 1899 geography teacher, Alexandrine College, Moscow, then instructor, Tikhomirov Women's Courses. 1931-1950 professor of geography, Moscow University. From 1941 head, Chair of African Physical Geography, 1947-1950 senior associate, Moscow Llniv.
1944-1947 head, Geographical Methods Section, Institute of Teaching Methods, Russian Soviet Federative Socialist Republic Academy of Pedagogical Sciences. 1922 did field work in Crimea, 1929 in Moscow Oblast and 1930-1931 in Samarskaya Luka. Wrote works on general and regional geography.
1900-1910 together with South. G. Grigor’yev, A. A. Kruber and South. V. Chefranov wrote geography textbooks and primers for schools. Also wrote articles on methods of teaching geography.
