From 1918 in Reel Army. Fought in Civil War; 1923-1941 various commands and staff posts. 1941 took part in Moscow counter-offensive.
1941-1942 chief of staff, mechanized corporations Commander, 31st Tank Brigade. Commander of armored and tank forces, 61st Army.
1942 took part in encirclement of 6th German Army at Stalingrad. 1942-1944 commanded 2nd, 4th, then 5th Guards Tank Corps. 1943 took part in liberation of Kiev.
1944 took part in Korsun’- Shevchcnkovo and Yassy-Kishinev operations. 1944-1945 commander, 6th Tank Army. 1945 helped rout Kwantung Army in Manchuria.
After World War 2 commanded armored and mechanized forces of various military distribution Deputy, Union of the Soviet Socialist Republics Supreme Soviet of 1946 convocation. From 1955 retired.
