1904 graduate St. Petersburg Military College.
From 1902 in Russian Army. 1904-1905 junior officer with reconnaissance unit of 85th Vyborg Infantry Regt serving in Far East. 1905-1914 assistant training officer, machine-gun squad commander, reconnaissance commander, company commander, then training officer, Preobrazhenskiy Household Regt.
1914-1917 company, then battalion commander with Preobrazhenskiy Household Regt on Southwestern Front. February 1917, while on leave in Petrograd, on orders from commandant of Petrograd garrison headed punitive squad in attempt to crush the Revol. From 24 December 1917 served with General Alekseyev’s Volunteer Army.
1918-1919 commandant, Taganrog Garrison. Company commander, 1st Officers Regt. Assistant commander, 1st Officers Regt.
Commander, Kornilov Regt. Provisional commander, 1st Division, Volunteer Army. Then Black Sea Military Governor.
From May 1919 commander, 1st Army Corps, then commander, Separate Corps of Volunteer Army. Commander, 1st Army; during Civil War his troops were noted for their discipline and staunchness. Ruthlessly stopped any pillaging, plundering and anti-Semitism.
November 1920 evacuated from Russia with the remnants of the White Army. In mid-1920's, living abroad, founded and headed ’’Kutepov Org,” a reconnaissance and terrorist organisation which operated clandestinely in the USSR until the latc-1920’s. From 1928, after the death of General Wrangel, headed the White emigre military organisation Russian General Soldiers’ League.
26 January 1930 kidnapped in Paris by Joint State Political Administration agents and smuggled to USSR.
Religion is bad because it divides people, and is a cause of conflict and war.
The emphasis on peaceful coexistence doesn’t mean that the Soviet Union accepted a static world with clear lines. Socialism is inevitable and the "correlations of forces" were moving towards socialism.
