Commissioned in Royal Engineers, 1874. Went to India, 1877; served Afghan War, 1878-1879-80 (medal). Employed in Public Works Department, Punjab.
Served Hazara Expedition, 1888 (medal and clasp, despatches). Hazara Expedition, 1892 (clasp, despatches). Employed as Under - Secretary, Public Works Department (roads, buildings, Governor railways, tele graphs, etc.) Govt, of Punjab.
Served with Chitral relief force, 1895 (despatches, medal, clasp, and Companion of the Distinguished Service Order). Invalided to England, 1897. Returned to India, 1898.
Officiating Chief Engineer, Punjab, Public Works Department (roads, buildings, Governor railways, tele graphs, etc.) 1903-1904. Returned to England, 1904. Retired, 1906. Companion of the Distinguished Service Order 1896; late R.E.
