Peter Cooke

Education

Cooke studied at the University of Southampton, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in 1970. He was admitted to the bar in England in 1974 and subsequently practised as a solicitor of the Supreme Court of England and Wales.

Career

Cooke practised employment law in London and became a partner of Theodore Goddard, where he headed the employment department and later served as managing partner. In that leadership role, he discussed the firm's partnership structure, promotion criteria, professional development and expansion of its project-finance practice. In 2003 he moved with a group of Theodore Goddard partners to Salans as an employment partner. He later worked at Covington & Burling as of counsel, advising on employment matters in connection with corporate and financial transactions, including the firm's London work on the Indian Energy AIM listing and the acquisition of Tristone Capital Global by Macquarie Group.

Achievements
