In 1999, Corsell was recruited by the Central Intelligence Agency, where he worked as a political analyst in the Cuba branch. Corsell founded GridPoint in 2003 to develop energy management and renewable energy technologies. He served as the company’s President and Chief Executive Officer from 2003 until 2010, when he became the company’s Chairman.
Corsell has been featured in several books including Hot, Flat, and Crowded by Thomas Friedman, Perfect Power by Robert Galvin and Kurt Yeager and Earth: The Sequel by Fred Krupp and The Clean Technical Revolution by Ron Pernick and Clint Wilder.
Other ventures Corsell is an active investor in several early stage companies including: Clearpath, a software platform that simplifies the United States. immigration process, where he also serves on the board of directors inStream, a comprehensive practice management software platform for independent financial advisors, where he serves on the board of directors In 2008, Massachusetts Institute of Technology Technology Review recognized Corsell as one of the top 35 innovators in the world under the age of 35.

The World Economic Forum named him a Young Global Leader in 2010. Corsell was Chairman of the World Economic Forum’s Global Agenda Council on Sustainable Energy (2008-2009), as well as a member of the Electrification Coalition, a nonpartisan organization committed to the widespread adoption of electric vehicles. He also serves on the executive committee of the board of the Wolfsonian Museum in Miami Beach, Florida.
