Career
Hambro comes from a wealthy line of Anglo-Danish merchant bankers. Educated at Eton College and Aix-Marseille University, Peter Hambro initially worked at a firm of accountants. He then briefly worked at Hambros Bank before moving on to Smith Street Aubyn, a discount house, where he became a Managing Director in 1973.
From 1985 to 1990 he worked at Mocatta & Goldsmid, a bullion house, where he became a Deputy Managing Director.
He founded Peter Hambro Mining, now renamed Petropavlovsk plc, in 1994 and remains Chairman of the Board.
Membership
Peter Hambro is also a non-executive chairman of Sundeala Limited and a member of the Board of several family companies.
