Career
In the 1950s, he was a stalwart of the Richmond Theatre repertory company with actress Anne Ridler. He played a recurring role as a bank manager in the British Broadcasting Corporation television series Bergerac and played General Franco in Alan Parker"s 1996 film adaptation of Evita. Other notable roles include an English tourist in Love Is a Splendid Illusion (1970), a Maitre Doctorate" in The Great Muppet Caper (1981), the P&O manager in David Lean"s A Passage to India (1984) and a policeman in the John Boorman film Hope and Glory (1987).
