Peter Nero, American pianist, conductor, composer, arranger. Honored by International Society Performing Arts Administrators, 1986; recipient 8 Grammy nominations, 2 Grammy awards; named #1 Instrumentalist Cashbox Magazine.


Nero, Peter was born on May 22, 1934 in New York City. Son of Julius and Mary (Menasche) Nero.


Student, Juilliard School, New York City. Doctorate (honorary), Brooklyn College.


Music director Florida Philharmonic Orchestra, Fort Lauderdale, since 1981.

    • National tour with Paul Whiteman on television and in concert, 1953-1957, appearances concert halls, theatres, colleges, television and supper clubs throughout United States, England, France, Holland, Italy, Scandinavia, since 1962. Appeared at Grand Gala du Disque, Amsterdam, The Netherlands, 1964, five television specials on British Broadcasting Corporation-television. Arranged, appeared and recorded with Boston Pops Orchestra.
