Peter Williams was the first, and as of 1 January 2012 the only, football player to play rugby union for England, and rugby league for Wales. County Cup final appearances
Williams played fullback (replaced by Interchange/Substitute Ian Blease) in Salford"s 17–22 defeat by Wigan in the 1988 Lancashire Cup final during the 1988-1989 season at Knowsley Road, Saint Helens on Sunday 23 October 1988. and played centre, id est (that is) number 4, and scored a try in the 24-18 defeat to Widnes in the 1990 Lancashire Cup final during the 1990-1991 season at Central Park, Wigan on Saturday 29 September 1990. Williams is the son of the Llanelli Reconstruction Finance Corporation (RU) Prop, and Wigan (RL) second-row of the 1950s, Roy Williams.
