Cavicchia, Peter Angelo was born on May 22, 1879 in in Italy. Son of Dominic and Maria Josephine (Lombardi) Cavicchia.


Brought to the United States at age of nine, 1888. Bachelor of Arts, American International College, Springfield, Massachusetts, 1906, Doctor of Laws, 1929. Bachelor of Laws, New York University, 1908.


Admitted to New Jersey bar, 1909, and began practice at Newark.

District supervisor inheritance tax for Essex County since 1917. Professor of law Mercer Beasley Law School, 1925-1930. V. chairman Central Planning Board, City of Newark.

Member 72d Congress (1931-1933), 9th New Jersey District. Reelected to 73d and 74th Congresses (1933-1937), 11th New Jersey District President Newark Board of Education, 1924-1926. Trustee Newark University and American International College, Italian Welfare League of Essex County (president), Order Sons of Italy (past Grand Master for New Jersey).
