(The world's most singular, severely elegant collection of...)
The world's most singular, severely elegant collection of contemporary furniture has been created by Nicos Zographos. He has produced hundreds of striking designs for thousands of spaces in America and Europe. Many great architects like Philip Johnson, Gordon Bunshaft, Walter Gropius, and I. M. Pei have used his work to complement their buildings. This volume, featuring color photographs of his interior design projects as well as dramatic duotone images of his furniture, gathers and critically assesses his work for the first time. Zographos is the last adherent to the strict aesthetic principles first defined by the European Bauhaus school, and he is very likely one of the last designers to manage his own manufacturing company. Within a business bounded by commercial constraints, his enduring values have significantly influenced both the style and the standards of the modern furniture industry.
