Never Give Up! and other sermons preached at Harvard by Peter J. Gomes 2008-2010. The Sermons in this book, the twelfth volume in a series of sermons given by the late Reverend Professor Peter J. Gomes in The Memorial Church, Harvard University, during Sunday services in the years 2008 to 2010, continue a practice of University peaching that extends from the seventeenth century. That duty had been performed by the then Reverend Presidents until 1855, when University peaching at Harvard became one of the responsibilities of the Plummer Professor of Christian Morals. The Sermons range from those for freshmen to those for grading seniors, and include a Lenten Series and a series of brief addresses given during the academic year at the daily service of Morning Prayer with which, since 1636, the College day has begun.
