Peter Petrovich Nikiforov studied at the Moscow Surikov State Art Institute (1943-1944), graduated from the art Department of the philological faculty of Moscow State University in 1949 (teachers B.R. Whipper, V.N. Lazarev).
Career
The key positions in the career include: research officer at the Pushkin State Museum of Fine Arts (1948-1949), director of art gallery, art school teacher in Penza (1949-1952), deputy head of the Department of fine arts institutions of the Ministry of Culture of the USSR (1952-1954), executive secretary (1955-1958), senior lecturer of the Belarusian Theatre and Art Institute (1958-1963).
Peter Petrovich was a deputy chairman of Belarussian Union of Artists (1963-1965). In 1965-1984 he lived in Voronezh, participated in the organization of regional exhibitions "Chernozem Region". In 1965-1972 Peter Petrovich worked as a teacher of philosophy and aesthetics and since 1972 as a teacher of art history at Voronezh State Pedagogical Institute. Since 1986 he worked as a chairman of the criticism section and chairman of the Board of the Moscow Regional Union of Artists.
