(The greatest potential of theatre is the communication of...)
The greatest potential of theatre is the communication of truths. Too often, secondary school actors and directors are not given the opportunity to participate in realistic, contemporary teen theatre due to the hard-nosed fact that too few plays are written expressly for them. Baker's Plays commissioned New Dramatists and Circle Rep playwright Peter Dee to write "Voices from the High School" so that the teen actor might find the opportunity to share with his fellow students, his parents, teachers and administrators, the joys and difficulties of being forced to grow up too fast in America.
