1949-1952 member, Editorial Board, newspaper “Pravda”, journal “Bolshevik” and “Bolshaya sovetskaya entsiklopediya” (Large Soviet Encyclopedia). At 1930 Congress of All-Union Communist Party (Bolsheviks) elected member, Central Control Commission, and at 1934 Congress member, Party Control Commission. 1957 Chairman, Editor Commission, “Istoriya velikoy otcchestvennoy voyny” (History of the Great Patriotic War).
1946-1953 corresponding member, USSR Academy of Science. Deputy, USSR Supreme Soviet of 1946, 1950, 1954 and 1958 convocation and Russian Soviet Federated Socialist Republic Supreme Soviet of 1955 convocation. 1958 participated in reestablishment of a “Central Organ of Communist Parties” in Prague and in the “Central Organ’s” journal “Problemy mira i sotsializma” (Problems of Peace and Socialism).
1960 headed Central Committee of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union delegation 13th Congress of Communist Party Belgium and 3rd Congress of Rumanian Workers’ Party. Author of numerous articles and works on Communist Party of the Soviet Union hist, and Marxist theory. Coauthor of Stalin’s biography.
October 1953, after the declaration of "collective leadership” and the campaign ogainst the “personality cult”, published an article in journal “Voprosy istorii” (Pro blems of History) depicting Stalin as the first opponent of the personality cult. 1917-1918 propagandist and agitator, Tver Underground Bolshevik Organization, then Secretary, Tver Textile Workers’ Trade-Union. 1918-1919 in Chelyabinsk Underground Party Organization.
