Petr Petrovich Vershigora
Petr Petrovich was a prose writer, film director, laureate of the State Prize of the USSR (1947), Hero of the Soviet Union (1944). He was from the teacher's family.
Career
He worked at the Kiev Film Studio. During the Great Patriotic War, he was one of the leaders of the partisan movement. General-major. He is the author of many documentary-fiction books devoted mainly to the exploits of Soviet partisans; the most famous story is "People with a Clear Conscience" (Moscow, 1946).
In June 1947, on behalf of the Central Committee of the All-Union Lenin Communist Youth League, he visited Voronezh, where he met with the Komsomol activists, commanded a parade of Voronezh pioneers, participated in the readers' conference on the book "People with a Clear Conscience." At the turn of the 1950's and 1960's, came to the city of Ostrogozhsk, Voronezh region, to meet with readers.
