Youth and College Professional Hufstader began his playing career in Brazil where he went on trial with several teams, playing for Mirassol before joining the Corinthians youth team He returned to the United States at the end of 2004, and signed with the Wilmington Hammerheads of the USL Second Division prior to the 2005 season. After two years out of the game, Hufstader returned to the Hammerheads to play in 2009.
