Career

Several children including John Berrien. Tutor, College of New Jersey, 1807-1810, senior tutor, 1812-1813, professor langs., 1813-1817, vice president 1817-1823, acting president, 1822-1823. Licensed to preach by Presbytery of New Brunswick, New Jersey, 1810.

Pastor in Newton, New York, 1810-1812. Ordained pastor, 1817. President U. Nashville (Tennessee), 1825-1850.

Professor New Albany (Indiana) Theological Seminary, 1850-1853. Moderator Presbyterian General Assembly, 1834.
