Career
He was raised in Swatragh, County Londonderry. A former student of Queens University, Belfast, Philip McGuigan is a full-time Sinn Féin activist and sat on the party"s Ard Chomhairle (National Executive). He was elected to the Assembly in 2003 representing North Antrim.
Philip McGuigan was elected to the Ballymoney Council in 2001, aged 27, with the highest vote of any of the 16 elected councillors.
He is party whip for all the elected Assembly members in Sinn Féin. He was elected in the assembly elections for North Antrim in 2003 but stood aside to let Daithi McKay contest the election on behalf of Sinn Féin in 2007.
