South African War, 1901-1902. Operations in the Transvaal, Orange River Colony, and Cape Colony, April 1901 to 31 May 1902 (despatches, Queen’s medal with 5 clasps, Companion of the Bath). Retired; late commanding 1st Battalion Loyal North Lancashire Regiment.
