Emigrated to New Zealand, 1866; engaged some years in farming, acting as lay-reader for settlement; awarded scholarship, St. John’s College, Auckland, 1872; Deacon, 1874; Priest, 1876; tirst appointment, Waitara, Taranaki, large scattered district, laborious work; after seven years removed to Auckland; temporary charge, St. Mary’s, Parnell.
Thence to Coromandel, a gold-mining district; visited the old country, 1883-S4; again in 1899-1900; Vicar of Waimate North, 1884 -1909. Waimate Archdeaconry includes numerous native districts worked by Maori clergy.
Canon of Auckland since 1897; Archdeacon of Waimate since 1900.
