Chairman of the Board Buffalo Insurance Company. Director Marine Trust Company, Marine Safe Deposit Company, Dunlop Tire & Rubber Corporation (all Buffalo). Secretary, New York State Board of Law Examiners since 1921.

Member Board of Legal Examiners (Federal), 1941-1943. Chairman National Conference Bar Examiners, 1931. Director Children’s Aid, and Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Children of Erie County (president 1928-1942).

Member of New York State Temporary Emergency Relief Administration, 1931-1932 (chairman 1932), vice chairman Governor’s Commision on Unemployment Relief, New York, 1934-1936. Director Urban League, Memorial Center of Buffalo, Kleinhans Music Hall Management, Inc. (vice president). Trustee, secretary treasurer, Grosvenor Library, Buffalo.
