Studied at Queenwood College, Hampshire.
After some years in Calico-Printing business, Leigh and Gilchrist, studied under Tom Mostyn. Foreign many years a member of Manchester Athenaeum Graphic Club, becoming Vice-President in 1896 and retiring from the club in 1903. Studied also at the classes of Manchester Academy of Fine Arts.
First exhibited in R. A. 1900.
Member of Manchester Academy of Fine Arts, Liverpool Academy of Fine Arts, Imperial Arts League, Southport Art Association. Moderator of Synod Presbyterian Church of England, 1010-1011.
