Career
He broke into the big leagues in June 1888, with the Pittsburg Alleghenys, at the age of 23. Knell finished his career with a 79–90 record and 4.05 European Research Area. Although his career was short, Knell still remains #28 on the list of "most batters hit by a pitch" by any major league pitcher.
