He got Bachelor of Arts degree in St. John's University, Shanghai in 1923 and Master of Arts degree in University of Chicago, U.S.A. in 1931.
Then Ping-heng Tai was taught at St. John's University High School, Shanghai, Nankai University High School, Tientsin and Chi Bee High School, Amoy.
Ping-heng Tai was secretary of the National Anti-Opium Association in Shanghai from 1927 till 1929, head department of Narcotic Survey and Statistics, Opium Suppression Committee of National Government in 1928, editor of Opium: A World Problem (a publication of the Anti-Opium Association) from 1927 till 1929, contributor of articles to various periodicals in China.
Mr Tai was sent by the Fukien Provincial Government to America to study American education and also entrusted by the National Anti-Opium Association with soliciting co-operation of American peopie in world's campaign against narcotic drugs. He did advanced work on sociology at the University of Chicago.
