Admitted to New York bar, 1865, and began practice with preceptor. Removed to Indianapolis, November, 1866. Was partner with Judge Edward Buskirk and Judge David V. Burns.

Judge of Superior Court, Indianapolis, terms 1892-1896, and 1908-December 31, 1914.

Resumed practice of law.
