Career

Professor., Colegio de la Moneda. Joined revolutionary forces of Madero, 1910. Commissariat of Aguaprieta, 1912.

It colonel and colonel, revolutionary army, 1913. general, 1914. Provisional governor and military commander, state of Sonora, 1915, constitutional governor, 1918. Minister of industry, commerce, and labor, 1919.

Founder, Cruz de Gálvez industrial school, Sonora. Head of political campaign in favor of General Obregón. Took an active part in the Plan de Aguaprieta signed 1920.

Minister of war and navy, on two occasions. Minister of interior, 1920-1923. President of Mexico. 1924-1928.

Minister of finance, 1933-1935. Exiled to California, United States of America, 1935-1941. Reinstated into the Mexican army, 1942.

Among achievements of General Elias Calles’ administration may be mentioned the construction of the first highways, the founding of the Bank of Mexico, and the amortization of the public debt. Teacher in schools of Guaymas and Hermosillo. Inspector of schools in Guaymas.
