1927-1930 contributed to newspaper Sel’rob. 1930-1932 cd, newspaper Sila-, 1930-1939 on several occasions imprisoned in Poland for revol activities. From 1939 worked for newspaper Vil’na Ukraine.
During World War 2 correspondent for front newspapers and contributed to Radio Dnipro. 1945-1951 ed, journal Radyans’ltyy Lviv, from 1944 for several years headed L’vov Branch of Ukraine Writers’ Union. 1952-1954 chairman, exec comt, L’vov Oblast Soviet of Workers’ Deputy.
Helped found Ukraine writers’ organisation Homo and journal Vikna. At 13th and 14th Communist Party Ukraine Congresses elected candidate member, Central Committee, Communist Party Ukraine. Deputy, Union of the Soviet Socialist Republics Supreme Soviet of 1950, 1954 and 1958 convocations.
Author of numerous articles, pamphlets, humorous stories and fcuillctons. Works translated into many Soviet languages and into Polish, Czechoslovakian, Rumanian, German, Chinese, et cetera 1926 first work published.
Board member, Union of the Soviet Socialist Republics Writers’ Union from 1954 and Ukraine Writers’ Union from 1959. Member, cd bd, journal Zhovten’. Communist Party member from 1943.
