Studied at Khar’kov Veterinary Institute.
While a student, engaged in extensive correspondence with members of North.Ye. Fedoseyev’s Marxist circle. 1889 arrested for his connections with this circle and imprisoned for three years.
From 1890’s active in Social-Democratic movement. 1896-1897 ed, newspaper “Samarskiy vestnik”. Contributed to progressive Saint St. Petersburg journals.
After 2nd Russian Social-Democratic Workers’ Party Congress sided with Mensheviks: 1906 at 4th Russian Social-Democratic Workers’ Party Congress advocated Menshevik program for municipalization of the land. Wrote major studies of agrarian problem, revising several Marxist tenets. Roundly criticized by Lenin.
During World War 1 took Iiquidationist stand. After 1917 October Revol abandoned political work. Worked for State Planning Committee and Russian Association of Social Sciences Research Institutes.
Taught and did research at various higher educational establishments in Omsk, Irkutsk, Chita and Moscow. In his latter years studied Social Agric economics, especially machine-and-tractor stations and sovkhozes.
Religions convince people that the source of their misery lies in the inherent and unchangeable "sinfulness" of humanity rather than in the forms of social organization and institutions.
With the establishment of socialist regimes in Eastern Europe and Asia, capitalism lost its dominance as an economic system.
