Lecturer in English St. Columba's College, Hazaribagh, 1964-1965, Birsa College, Khunti, 1965-1968. From lecturer in English to professor Ranchi College, 1968—1995, professor postgraduate Department English, since 1995. Head department English, dean faculty humanities Ranchi University, 2001.

Reader in English Regional College of Education, National Council of Educational Research and Training, 1976-1978, retired, 2001.
