Banbury played for the University of Pittsburgh in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and was captain of the team in 1908. He also was on the Track & Field team and competed in the long jump. Banbury was the head college football coach for the Bethany Terrible Swedes located in Lindsborg, Kansas.
