Education

In 1969 he received a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Purdue University. In 1970 he was a postgraduate of the University of Santa Clara. In 1973 he gained a Juris Doctor from the University of Michigan.

Career

From 1969 he was a sales support manager at Hewlett-Packard in Palo Alto, California. From 1973 to 1980 he was an associate at Quarles & Brady in Milwaukee, and has been a partner since 1980. He is a member of board of directors at Associated Bank Milwaukee, U-Line Corporation, General Timber and Land, Inc. in Fond du Lac.
