Rachel Finch is an Australian beauty pageant titleholder and television reporter.
Education
Born in Sydney, but raised in Townsville, the glamorous 21 year old has come a long way since successfully representing Queensland on the athletics track. As a teenager, Rachael’s modelling career kick-started in 2004 when she won the Queensland Model of the Year title at the annual Fashion Bash awards, however, finishing school remained her priority before beginning a modelling career. Once Rachael graduated, she travelled the world appearing in a number of high profile fashion magazines and featured in a number of campaigns for luxury labels such as Louis Vuitton, Chanel and Max & Co.
With her passion lying in the television and media industry, Rachael undertook a presenting course at the Sydney Academy of Film and Television. In 2010 Rachael presented her own award, the Rachael Finch Rising Star Award, at the annual Fashion Bash. The award aims to open up opportunities for young women in the entertainment and modelling industries.
Career
Rachael Finch has captured the hearts of the Australian public with her down to earth personality, sense of humour and enthusiasm for life. Rachael wowed the world when she represented Australia in the Miss Universe competition in the Bahamas in 2009. However, since then, Rachael has entered a new phase in her life and her versatility has led her to some exciting avenues.
Rachael’s first real foray into television came in late 2009 when she cooked up a storm to place third on Channel Ten’s popular hit show, Celebrity Masterchef. It was then no surprise that a number of TV networks saw something special in Rachael’s presence on camera and expressed interest in signing the beautiful 21 year old. Rachael since signed a long term deal with the Seven network to feature across a range of programs including the 2010 series of Dancing With The Stars where she was a popular audience favourite. The 2010/2011 Summer period saw Rachael present the weather on Seven’s Sunrise as well as co-host an exciting new travel show, ‘High Road, Low Road’ with Tom Williams, where they visited some of the world's top travel destinations.
In late 2010 it was announced that Rachael would dive into a new role as the face of Speedo – a perfect fit for her down-to-earth, Aussie beach girl personality.
Whatever challenges Rachael face, she still manages to contribute time, energy and support to a number of charitable organisations including; the Heart Foundation, Ronald McDonald House and Camp Quality. A keen and accomplished water-skier, Rachael is also passionate for life and good health and enjoys returning home to her family in Townsville.
Her magnetism, openness, drive, and accomplished speaking skills, coupled with her natural beauty, position Rachael as a marketers’ dream. She is a confident young woman with a big future ahead and we can be assured to see a lot more of her in the near future.
