Rachel Basch received her Bachelor of Arts from Wesleyan University and her Master of Arts degree from New York University’s Creative Writing Program.
Rachel Basch is the author of three novels: "Degrees of Love" (1998), "The passion of Reverend Nash" (2003) and "The Listener". She has reviewed books for "The Washington Post Book World", and her nonfiction has appeared in "n+1, Salon,The Huffington Post, The Millions", and "Parenting".
A dedicated teacher of creative writing for over twenty five years, Basch is a contributor to "Now Write!: Fiction Writing Exercises From Today’s Best Writers & Teachers". She works independently with writers and leads a private master class. She has lived in Connecticut for 30 years.
Rachel Basch is best known as an author. Her "The Passion of Reverend Nash" was named one of the five best novels of 2003 by The Christian Science Monitor. "The Listener" was a finalist for the Community of Literary Magazines and Presses (CLMP) Firecracker Award in 2016.
Basch was awarded a Teaching Fellowship and a scholarship of New York University. She was a MacDowell Colony Fellow in 2011.
