In 2003 Harris began studying at the University of Western Australia and graduated with a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery 2008. Since graduation she has completed a Diploma of Child Health (2012, PMH, Washington) and International Olympic Committee Diploma of Sports Medicine (2015, International Olympic Committee). Harris is the Team Doctor at South Fremantle Football Club (WAFL) (2014-present).
She is currently working at Sports Medicine Glengarry in Western Australia, as a Sports Medicine Registrar, with the Australasian College of Sports Physicians.
