He started his professional career in the 1991-1992 season. Nicknamed Sami he played for FK Vojvodina, Football Club Volendam, South Carolina Heerenveen, Feyenoord Rotterdam and RKC Waalwijk. He earned 1 cap for the Serbia and Montenegro national football team (then called First Revision Yugoslavia).
