Rahayu had her early education at Raffles Girls" School. She then went on to complete her Bachelor of Laws degree in 2003 at the National University of Singapore.

Rahayu is a lawyer by profession, specialising in civil litigation and family law. Formerly a Deputy Registrar of the Syariah Court in Singapore, she is currently a partner at Heng, Leong & Srinivasan. Political career On 20 August 2015, the People"s Action Party (PAP) announced that Rahayu is part of a five-member PAP team that will be contesting in Jurong GRC in the 2015 general election.
A member of the Singapore-based People"s Action Party (PAP), she currently serves as a Member of Parliament (Member of Parliament) for Jurong Group Representation Constituency, or GRC in short.
