Raizo Oda participated in the socialist movement of the Heiminsha Society. In 1904, he peddled socialist literature, laden on a red-painted cart, which he drew from Tokyo to Shimonoseki, then to Kyiishii.
Raizo Oda was born in 1900.
After the abortive attempt of Shiisui Kotoku to assassinate Emperor Meiji, he became religious and a Tolstoyan. Led a life of social service as a member of Tenko Nishida's Ittoen Society and then became a hermit on Mt. Koya in Wakayama Prefecture, where he died after leading a life of austerity and meditation.
