Career
Sharma was a right handed batsman and a right-arm off break bowler. He represented Delhi in First Class Cricket (1986-1991) matches and also some List A matches. Sharma founded West Delhi Cricket Academy in the year 1998 with a mission to produce top-class cricketers.
He opened its four branches in Delhi.
He is still a senior coach in the academy. Virat Kohli, who was raised in Uttam Nagar, trained at the West Delhi Cricket Academy since its inception in 1998.
As of 2014 Kohli continues to be involved with the academy.
